Hugger Ceiling Fans

There are various types of fans to choose from in today’s day and age. Whether you are renovating the living room, dining room, bedroom or any other room in the home you should consider installing hugger ceiling fans. This is one of the latest and greatest varieties of ceiling fan to be released and all manufacturers in the field have seemed to take on this fad.

The biggest difference between the hugger fans and other styles is that these cling so closely to the ceiling. The reason for this initially was because hugger fans were created for use in rooms with lower ceilings. Manufacturers obviously wanted to ensure these rooms could still have a fan but then keep it as far away from the floor as possible for safety reasons.

These fans can still be used today in the right situations. The only way they would not work is if you put them in rooms with higher, Victorian style ceilings. They may not look too bad but realize that if you are going for functionality there will pretty much be no point because the fan would be so high up it would hardly ventilate the air or provide any cooling.

These are very low profile ceiling fans and if you are considering using them in a more modern design just ensure you are keeping things safe. There are some fantastic brands of the hugger style fans available such as Ellington and Loreto Bay.

To install this type of fan you need to follow a few special instructions. Once you have secured the fan mounting plate to the fan rated box you need to align the assembly and connect all the wires. Once you have this assembled, you can bring the fan up and secure the fan motor assembly cover and fan blades. For the hugger fans, it is usually best to keep them on the slowest speed to ensure as little vibration as possible.
